At least two pins from the original surgery are still visible, in what is actually his grafted hip bone.
There were originally more pins, but over time, they've worked their way out through the skin.
About a year after Ed's original hand reattachment, the surgeon removed his
index finger and attached it to the spot where his thumb had been to add functionality.
