The next day we left Santa Fe for our flight that evening out of Albuquerque. We took the long way, spending a few hours at Bandelier National Monument, site of ancient cliff-dwellings. This is the Tyuonyi pueblo, a village. The rooms do not have doors connecting them. The people came through hatches in the roof using ladders. Ladders were very important to them, as you'll see.
