We are being overtaken!

Nowcast as of 8:22 PM CST on January 27, 2009

Now
The freezing line has reached a Temple to Rockwall…Sulphur Springs line at 810 PM…and will overtake the reminder of North Texas by 100 am! The dividing line between freezing rain and sleet runs from Comanche to Dallas and Bonham at 810 PM. The freezing rain and sleet areas will continue moving east at 20 mph through midnight…producing up to 1/2 inch of sleet on roadways…bridges and overpasses. Once roads become ice covered…they will stay icy and dangerous through the morning commute…or around 900 am. Areas generally south of a Comanche to Athens line will see lesser amounts of sleet and freezing rain overnight…but most roads will become icy and slick once the air temperature drops below freezing.

80 degrees, 20 degrees, 70 degrees, 30 degrees. Well at least the current freezing rain sounds about right for January.
