Sorry for the blackout, had a bit of a hectic period there for awhile. Barbara and Alan were here for five days, then I decided to use the next week to paint three rooms in the house before Mom and Dad arrived. Unfortunately, I caught a cold at the same time, so, already committed to painting, I did it while sick, which was extremely draining. I finished just in time for Mom and Dad’s visit, and I’m glad I did it. Two of those three rooms were depressing to look at, and now I love them.

Anyway.

It was great seeing Barbara and Alan, and nice to see that even though I haven’t seen them for three and seven years respectively, they look the same. Regrettably, the weather during their visit was dreadful. Bitterly cold, windy, with some rain thrown in for good measure. There was even freezing rain predicted for their flight out of Dallas to Mexico, but thankfully that never materialized.

Mom and Dad lucked out, though. After weeks of cold weather, it was quite nice this week, especially the last couple of days. We did a tiny bit of sightseeing, a lot of boat tasks, and some general eating out and enjoying nature. A nice visit.
