All summer we watched the birth of a new coffee house on White Oak Boulevard (6th St.) in the Heights. It looked like it was going to be a nice place to hang out. Little did we suspect that it would also be a bar with beer and wine. Living as we do in a dry neighborhood, we really don't have a nice place to have a beer. We've often talked about how it would be nice to have someplace like the Ginger Man closer to home. Onion Creek Coffee House is just such a place, but with coffee, too! And not only do they have good beer, but they have Arrogant Bastard Ale. Late this afternoon, Ed and I walked across the line of dry to enjoy the few minutes of sunlight we've seen all weekend and have a pint (seen at left). Life is good.
