Giant Presidents' Heads Day
One day about a year ago a co-worker of mine started a Monday with tales of a warehouse party he'd attended over the weekend, and of the giant presidents' heads he'd seen there. To which we answered "Chuck, are you sure you weren't passed out on the asphalt looking at some coins?" He insisted, and could give a vague description of where the party had been, just across the Heights. So I drove by the next morning, and sure enough, giant presidents' heads. A little research turned up the artist's name, David Adickes. Adickes also created the 67-foot statue of Sam Houston that surprised me on my drive up to Dallas three years ago. More pictures of the heads, taken just a few weeks ago, are here. |
