Mission San Juan Capistrano
San Antonio Missions

On Sunday we took a tour of the San Antonio missions. Five of the six original missions still remain. One of the missions, Mission San Antonio de Valero, is better known as the Alamo. The other four are still active churches. Because it was Sunday, we came across a few services as we explored the missions. They are quite close to each other, within biking distance.

We learned a lot about missions in Texas and in other states, and we discovered that there was one not far from where we live, although there are no remains of it.

The photo at left is of Mission San Juan Capistrano.

More mission pictures from the day are here.
