Bluebonnet Time
Bluebonnets began blooming in early March. They last for a long time, and in late March Ed and I went for a drive up north where they are famous. Even more wondrous than the vast field of blue spotted with orange Indian paintbrush was the predictibility of it all. Every nice patch of bluebonnets had a Texas family posing in it - mothers and kids, fathers with a camera. The few times we came upon a nice patch without human habitation, we could clearly see the mark of 3 or 4 large Texas posteriors still visible in the flora. Ed coined a phrase: STOW "Stop Trampling Our Wildflowers". He would yell it out the windows at the families trying to capture their traditional Texas photographs. He came up with ideas for logos, slogans and, of course, flags! |
