The road took me across Sandy Creek four times. Bridges? Are you kidding? These were fords, for all you tenderfeet out there. This picture is taken from my car, which was resting comfortably in the creek. Did I mention I was glad I have the SUV?

I saw my first roadrunner! It was running on the road! I didn't see a single person or vehicle.

I started to think of what I would do if I got two flat tires. Or if I got stuck in Sandy Creek. Would AAA come and get me on an unmarked road? What about if I gave them the GPS coordinates? And would my cell phone work in the middle of nothing?

But never mind that, must press on.
