First Live Armadillo!
I thought that the reason I'd never seen a live armadillo in Texas was because they were nocturnal and shy. Wrong! It's because they take such a long time to cross the road, and don't look both ways beforehand. I watched this one cross a not-so-busy highway for about five minutes. Luckily, every car stopped for it. Then it ambled over to check out my shoe, not bothering (or not able) to look up to see what potential predator the shoe was attached to. Poor armadillos, still confident after all these years that their armor is all they need for protection. |
