Hey, this summer has actually not been too hot. In fact, last weekend at the beach the water was truly refreshing, unlike the usual swamp-hot water we usually have in the summer, and the air was about 87°. But this week is hot, dry, and sadly more typical. And our lawnmower guy somehow cut through one of my soaker hoses, so I'm back to watering the backyard by hand.

Erica and Ed are in Austin for a golf tournament this week, so I decided to try letting the kitten sleep with me last night. About 2:30 AM I had to put her to bed in Erica's room because she and Dewey were chasing around the house still and she was crying every time he jumped on her (which didn't stop her from jumping right back on him, of course).
