Everybody should post something about Mars. Linda already did; here's mine.

On Ed's birthday we attended a social gathering of Syracuse alumni at the home of the president of the local Syracuse alumni club. The guest attendee was Sean O'Keefe, the head of NASA. He was fascinating to talk to, and because it happened to be the day that the Spirit rover started to have problems, and two days before the Opportunity landed (he was flying out to California the next morning to be at the JPL at touchdown), there was a lot for him to talk about. And there was also reason to send a TV cameraman along with another alumnus, a local TV reported, to interview him. So soon after we got home, we got to watch ourselves on the news.
