I have been learning Flash ActionScript the last two weeks. My first goal was to create a magnetic poetry gizmo that loaded words from an external XML file. At left is a mini version of it (miniaturized to fit here, I mean). While I do plan on expanding this to allow users to add words or load extra verbs, nouns, swear words etc. (that was the point of using XML), my next project comes first. The new project will involve a lot more animation. This ultra-top-secret project is so complex that I am setting the delivery date for October. But that is partly (mostly) because it has a Halloween theme.

Magnetic poetry is always my first project when learning a new programming language, by the way, because it involves arrays, loops, graphics, events handling and text parsing. This is the first time I used XML for the text, though. Welcome to the new millenium!
