Dallas Nano-Vacation I've posted here often about our mini- and micro- vacations. These are weekends and long weekends, usually tacked onto a business trip Ed is taking, where we visit some places we haven't seen before and manage to do some sightseeing. Yesterday I took a trip that wasn't even that long: up to Dallas for part of the Big XII basketball tournament last night, a total trip time of less than 24 hours. We were able to see some sites this morning, though. Our main interest was the new Nasher Sculpture Center. This was a fantastic museum, even better than we expected. On the walk over from our hotel, we passed through Dealy Plaza. I enjoyed seeing the people on the corners pandering to the conspiracy theorists, but I especially liked the historical plaque on the Texas School Book Depository. Not only had multiple people felt the urge to underline the word "allegedly", but upon closer inspection, it looked like the word had been removed and repaired several times. |
