It's hot. Very hot. And it won't stop being hot until nearly Halloween. I'm rather depressed about that.

One of the few things I hate about Houston is the fact that right after daylight savings time begins and there is actually time to play outside after work, it becomes unbearable to do so until right before daylight savings time ends. And this year due to illness and activities, I didn't get much planted before the sizzle started, so I'll either have to risk it or have bare spots in my garden until fall.

Update: hours after writing this, I remembered that evenings here are somewhat more pleasant than midday, especially on the front porch with a martini in hand.
