Summer Games The other day at work my friend Mike and I got into a conversation (triggered by the start of school and my talking about playing Ghost in the Graveyard with Nico and Aidan) about the big neighborhood games we played on summer nights as kids. Mike grew up in Houston and is about five years younger than me, but we both played kickball and freeze tag and Capture the Flag. He started describing a game called Releeveo that they loved the most. The rules sounded exactly like our game of Release the Beldrum. No one else had heard of either of these games, so we went to Google to validate ourselves. Look at the article we came up with to determine what the games were really called. Also, I wasn't sad to see the U.S. lose to Puerto Rico in basketball, and I don't think Michael Phelps is cocky, just competitive. |
