Give Bush the pink slip!

October is ... election fever

Even though Texas is Bush country, and most people I know don't even want to waste time voting, Houston is not so unilaterally conservative as the rest of the state. On a run through the neighborhood today, I noticed Kerry signs outnumbering Bush signs 20-1. Even the chicken factory sports a Kerry sign. I know, that's hardly scientific, but it is different than in 2000.

Anyway, this art car in last weekend's Heights Festival parade carried a bunch of beslipped men and women chanting "No more years!".

Erica misses being an eligible voter this election by four weeks, which is too bad because she is spending a lot of time in schools learning about politics and is actually very interested in the election. It's been interesting to me, too, seeing how it's covered in high schools (better than I expected).
