hell freezes over; note the snow in this year's Christmas Eve manhattan photo

Wonderland

1. It snowed in Houston on Christmas Eve. Flakes on and off all day, and then a true snowfall starting at dusk. We could hear kids in every direction yelling "It's snowing!!!" and "open your mouth, you can eat it!". Most of these kids had probably never even seen snow, and for it to come on Christmas Eve right before bedtime was pretty special. We didn't have any left the next morning, but Galveston had 4 inches, Corpus Christi 3, and Victoria, which is south of here, had 11. Funniest moment? We saw a neighbor kid making a snow angel on the hood of the car (not enough accumulation on the grass).

2. We went to see Carolyn Wonderland play at Dan Electro's Guitar Bar here in the Heights last night. We decided that this show could be a nice Christmas Eve tradition, but next time the first set only so as to enjoy Christmas Day in a timely and energetic fashion.
