Deep South
I can't even begin to imagine what life would be like right now if we didn't have electricity. After all, that was what we were hoarding all those batteries and making all that ice for, right? We have broken heat records every day since the hurricane; it's been 98-103°. I am still very tired because there is still a lot of work to be done. I've been putting away ladders and plywood and taking the plants back out and getting all of the yard ornaments out of the garage and putting tools away and watering the flower beds with the bathtub water and generally lugging, lugging, lugging, in a lot of heat. At work I've been helping out in the warehouse a bit each day. A good deal of the equipment was shipped to Lufkin last week, and then shipped back, and with the extra activity that has arisen from the two hurricanes, things are backed up. I am glad to help and it is interesting to see all of the parts that make up what we sell, but that warehouse is about 110°. I'll sleep well tonight. And be very, very thankful that I can sleep in air conditioning. |
