Go Texan Day
Today was Go Texan Day in Houston, which, if you aren’t from Houston, might need some ‘splainin’. This is a day when everyone wears cowboy garb to work. It’s a city holiday, and most workplaces plan parties, picnics, chili or BBQ cookoffs, etc. The occasion is the start of the rodeo, and the spectacle is the trailriders arriving in town via horse, wagon, and chuckwagon. My previous references below (the older blog references will force you to hunt.):
My first drop-jaw observation of the trail ride (this still boggles my mind every year – chuckwagons on the freeways!!!)
The first time I went to the rodeo
Jeans cleaned $225 (I remember taking this picture!)
Okay, here’s my favorite: Flat Stanley Does Go Texan Day.
And finally, I’ll be posting some pictures from this year on Flickr.
